Julian Assange (Undisclosed location outside of London), 2012
Jacob Appelbaum

Cibachrome print
101.6 x 76.2 cm
Edition of 5

Appelbaum uses color infrared photography, originally developed to detect camouflaged targets in surveillance and forensic investigations, to capture these highly surveilled individuals in relaxed, everyday settings.  Julian Assange is the founder and editor-in-chief of WikiLeaks. The photograph is one of the last images of Assange as a free citizen, before he was granted asylum by Ecuador and moved to their embassy in London.
