The divide between nature and culture is an artificial construct. They are totally intertwined and rather form both sides of the same coin. Or tree trunk in this case. A log of pinewood is split in two. One side is left natural, the other half is neatly cut in a standard-size construction beam. A branch departing from the core of the tree is keeping them together. In a tender or violent act, depending on the eye of the beholder, both parts support each other and form an unbreakable union.
