In the ‘Wounds’ project, Kristina works with an archive of trauma photos. She is interested in portraying the body’s traumatic experience, which impacts her. While drawing for a long time, she can experience the image but not feel sympathy. It was not realizing what had happened to this body. At the beginning of the work, the image is so influential you feel dizzy. After a while, the understanding that this is a photograph that refers to reality becomes just an image. Works made on wood as Christian icons depicting the suffering body of Christ. Kristina separates the trauma from the body, making it a fragment. Thus it turns into an independent entity.
