Huay Chivo’s Sabbath is inspired by the legendary Huay Chivo, a shape-shifting wizard whose powers can be used for evil or good. He is in love with a girl who owns goats, so during the day he is a goat and at night becomes a monster with dark red eyes. Although a fearsome figure in Mayan folklore, the painting celebrates his innate sense of lust and desire.
