This work addresses the militarization of Philippine society, illustrating how each sector is subjugated to the armed forces: media, education, banking, health care, justice, aeronautics, commerce, culture, energy, sport, prison, and infrastructure. Dayrit has envisioned a number of syncretic amulets that could protect civil society from its internal enemy: the military state.
