Iconographies transforms the classic theme of Judith & Holofernes, where biblical heroine Judith beheads the ruthless general Holofernes, before he can destroy her city. The tale has been interpreted in hundreds of historical paintings; this work translates that of Italian master Botticelli (1497–1500, tempera on panel) into an abstract engraving on aluminum.
