Paolo Cirio

Overexposed by Paolo Cirio comprises a series of works on paper that expose unauthorized photographs of high-ranking U.S. intelligence officials connected to the Snowden revelations. Using a custom HD stencil technique, Cirio reproduces images of figures from the NSA, CIA, NI, and FBI, obtained from publicly accessible platforms. The artwork satirizes the era of ubiquitous surveillance and overly-mediated political personas by exposing the officials accountable for secretive mass surveillance and over-classified intelligence programs.

Avril Haines is the current White House Deputy National Security Advisor, and previously served as deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the first woman to hold this position. [Haines was also Obama’s direct advisor on the controversial Targeted Killings.
