Collage on paper
56 x 76 cm

Playing on the title of George Orwell’s cult novel, the Animal Pharm series is based on the controversial use of genetic modification in animals by the pharmaceutical industry. The collages’ combinations of cut-out materials – from domestic objects to blood cells, animals, and scientific instruments – evoke strands of DNA or chemical structures. Stolle’s artwork asks viewers to consider the connection between powerful corporate interests and public health.
