Literally, what does it mean to do lazy calculations for complex situations – the notion that 1+1 =2 presumes the two things being added together are actually readily visible or exist exactly as present … or what does it mean to think 1 (getting a Black president) + 1 (some other symbolic marker) = 2 (the thing we are hoping for).
