Disentangled No. 3, 2017
Nora Al-Badri | Nikolai Nelles

Ditone print
82 x 100 cm

These prints derive from 3D scans of the Ancient Egyptian Nefertiti Bust, which the artists secretly acquired in 2015. The treasured bust was found by German archaeologists in 1912 and is now housed far from its origins in Berlin’s Neues Museum, where photography is forbidden. Al-Badri and Nelles subsequently released the data about Nefertiti into the public domain – a critique of the contemporary display of cultural artefacts.
